Getting started
What this app does
Cash Horizon builds a forward view of your cash: what you expect to come in and go out, when, and how confident you are, tracked against what actually happens. You enter your own data by hand; nothing is ingested automatically and nothing leaves your environment.
First steps
- Pick or create an environment (top right): a self-contained book of cash data.
- Add the who (parties), the where (accounts), and your categories (buckets).
- Describe recurring cash with forecast definitions, then generate their occurrences.
- Run a projection to see the balance forward, and use the tracker to reconcile forecast against actual.
Start from a demo
You do not have to start empty. The Demo library ships two ready-made, clearly-labeled datasets you can open, explore, reset, and delete. On first run the default demo is loaded for you.
- Solo Freelancer (Demo) is a gentle one-person example: one bank account, a retainer, and a couple of recurring bills.
- Mid-Market Group - Parent (Demo) and Mid-Market Group - Subsidiary (Demo) are a richer, two-entity example with a credit card, an escalating lease, a derived rebate, confidence bands, transfers, and a projection that dips below zero.
Demo environments are badged Demo and never mix with your real data. Every walkthrough in this guide uses them, so you can follow along on live data.
