What this app does
Cash Horizon builds a forward view of your cash: what you expect to come in and go out, when, and how confident you are, tracked against what actually happens. You enter your own data by hand; nothing is ingested automatically, and your account's data is encrypted and isolated to its own database.
First steps
- Pick or create an environment (top right): a self-contained book of cash data.
- Add the who (parties), the where (accounts), and your categories (buckets).
- Enter what you expect as Expected transactions (recurring or one-off), your In transit items, and your Bank balances.
- Watch it all on the Cash matrix (Expected / In transit / Bank / running balance), and use Reconciliation to match imported lines against it.
Start from a demo
You do not have to start empty. The Demo library ships four ready-made, clearly-labeled datasets, a rung apart in complexity, that you can open, explore, reset, and delete. On first run the default demo is loaded for you.
- Solo Freelancer (Demo) is a gentle one-person example: one bank account, a retainer, and a couple of recurring bills.
- Small Business (Demo) is the middle rung: a bank account and a credit card, payroll, a storefront rent with a 3% annual escalator, a seasonal sales stream, and a first confidence band.
- Mid-Market Group - Parent (Demo) and Mid-Market Group - Subsidiary (Demo) are a richer, two-entity example with a credit card, an escalating lease, a derived rebate, confidence bands, transfers, and a running balance that dips below zero.
- Enterprise Group - Parent (Demo) plus Enterprise Group - Subsidiary East (Demo) and Enterprise Group - Subsidiary West (Demo) are the flagship: many parties, multiple banks and cards, debt service, derived rebates and commissions, invoices that roll up, a tax reserve, a planned what-if scenario, intercompany transfers, and a larger dataset.
Demo environments are badged Demo and never mix with your real data. Every walkthrough in this guide uses them, so you can follow along on live data.
