Entries: actual vs forecast

An entry is a single dated cash event with a direction: an inflow (money in) or an outflow (money out). Entries come in two kinds:

  • an actual: something that really happened (a realized inflow or outflow);
  • a forecast: something you expect. A one-off forecast is entered directly; recurring forecasts come from a definition (below).

The mid-market one-off Line upgrade (equipment) is a forecast entry: a single large outflow you expect in a specific month.
